This “patch” is a new version of the PowerPC-native Rebel Assault application. It fixes a stack error that occurred on PowerPC-based machines running either System 7.5 Update 2.0 (System 7.5.3) or certain configurations of System 7.1.2. It may be used on any PowerPC-based Macintosh system.
Before running the patch, you must discard any preferences created on your computer by previous version(s) of Rebel Assault. These are located in your Preferences folder in the System Folder. Open the Preferences folder, scroll down to any preferences labeled "Rebel Assault" and drag them to the trash. You may then run the new version either from the floppy disk or off of your hard drive. When you double-click on the Rebel Assault icon, the application will read the files off of your Rebel Assault CD-ROM (be sure to have it in the CD-ROM drive) and the game will begin.
